Parcar (Cabaser) is a strong agonist for dopamine receptors, particularly the D2 receptors. It also interacts with dopamine receptors in lactophilic hypothalamic cells to inhibit prolactin production in the pituitary gland. Typically, it is utilized as a second-line treatment for prolactinomas when bromocriptine fails to work effectively. Additionally, Parcar is employed to manage signs and symptoms of Parkinson's disease, a neurological disorder that affects movement. Key symptoms include tremors, stiff posture, slow movements, and a shuffled, unsteady gait. Parcar (Cabaser) aids in alleviating these symptoms and enhances the ability to perform daily tasks.

Parcar (Cabaser) is also used to prevent or cease breast milk production. Moreover, it treats conditions associated with excessively high prolactin levels. Prolactin is a hormone responsible for breast development and milk production during pregnancy. Parcar (Cabaser) is effective on its own or in combination with other medications for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease. While it does not cure Parkinson's Disease, it can significantly improve the quality of life for those affected.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that exists in the brain and nervous system, playing a key role in relaying messages between nerves. These neurotransmitter signals are crucial for normal bodily functions. In patients with Parkinson's disease, dopamine levels are often reduced or absent, which is believed to contribute to the symptoms of the disease.
Parcar (Cabaser) can be administered alone or alongside Levodopa to treat Parkinson's disease, proving especially beneficial for individuals who no longer achieve sufficient symptom control with Levodopa alone.

At the start of treatment, Parcar (Cabaser) may lead to a decrease in blood pressure, potentially causing dizziness or fainting. To lessen these effects, the dosage is typically increased gradually over a span of three to four weeks.

The initial recommended dose is between half to one 1 mg tablet (0.5 to 1 mg) daily. Your physician will gradually adjust your dosage over the following weeks, with a recommended maintenance dose of 2 to 3 mg per day.

Always take Parcar (Cabaser) as directed by your physician, who will determine the most appropriate dosage based on your specific condition and other medical factors. It is commonly prescribed alongside other Parkinson's medications, particularly levodopa. The standard initial dose is either half or one 1 mg tablet daily, with subsequent weekly increases of half to one tablet. If you're new to dopamine treatments, the usual final dose ranges from 2 to 4 mg; however, if Parcar (Cabaser) is taken with Levodopa, doses may be increased to up to 6 mg per day. Parcar is intended for long-term use to manage Parkinson's symptoms and prevent complications, so it should be taken daily, even when feeling well. While taking Parcar (Cabaser), additional caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery, as it may induce drowsiness, light-headedness, or sudden sleep in some patients. It is advised to avoid these activities until you understand how the medication affects you. Furthermore, particularly at the beginning of treatment, be sure to rise slowly from a seated or lying position to mitigate light-headedness caused by Parcar.
